Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Hunter Miodek Technologies (“HMT”) handles information in connection with the Drafton desktop application and this website. We’ve designed Drafton to keep your engineering work on your own machine.

The short version

• Your CAD data stays with you. The app runs locally as an Inventor add-in. We never receive, store, or have access to your models or files.
• BYOK. AI requests go directly from your machine to Anthropic using your own API key — not through us.
• We don’t sell data. Ever.

The Drafton desktop app

Drafton processes your Inventor model locally to build context for a requested change. To use the AI, the relevant model context is sent directly to Anthropic’s API using your API key. That traffic does not pass through HMT servers, and we do not log or retain it. Anthropic’s handling of API data is governed by Anthropic’s terms and policies.

License validation. If you activate a paid license, your license key is sent to our Merchant of Record’s validation service to confirm it’s valid. The key is stored encrypted on your device.

Error diagnostics. The app may include opt-in, errors-only crash reporting to help us fix bugs. It is disabled unless configured, captures technical error information only, and is not used to collect your CAD data or personal content.

This website

We collect limited information when you use this site:

• Analytics. We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand traffic and which content is useful (e.g., page views, aggregate events). We do not use this to build advertising profiles.
• Forms. If you join the early-access list or contact us, we store what you submit (such as your email, role, or message) to respond and to manage onboarding.

How we use information

To operate and improve Drafton and the website, to respond to you, to provide and validate licenses, and to comply with legal obligations. We rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in running the service.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us operate (for example, hosting, analytics, form storage, and our Merchant of Record for payments and license validation), each handling data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention

We keep form submissions and account-related data for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements, then delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email contact@huntermiodek.com.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
